Position Summary:
The Repair/Refurb Technician role requires a detail-oriented, tech-savvy individual to troubleshoot, diagnose, log warranties, and repair various retail IT hardware, including POS systems, servers, printers, and handheld devices. The technician will perform hands-on maintenance, support technical and administrative work for client hardware, and be responsible for learning the company's internal systems for work logs and reporting, all within a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with a wide range of IT hardware, including servers, desktops, laptops, tablets, cash registers, and POS systems, ensuring all customer hardware/software meets specifications.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment and parts, adhering strictly to customer contracts for warranty, third-party, and internal repairs.
- Maintain accurate records for inventory and repairs, meeting both company and customer expectations.
- Communicate effectively with the Supervisor regarding customer equipment status and needs.
- Handle, package, and label products, assisting with the movement and sorting of goods up to 50 lbs (by hand or pallet jack).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment by adhering to all safety guidelines, ESD requirements, and facility cleanliness standards. · Perform other duties as instructed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Strong technical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively both independently (prioritizing tasks) and as part of a team, while accurately following instructions and repair documentation.
- Physical ability to stand/sit for extended periods and lift/move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
- Manual dexterity and proficiency in using hand tools.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and comfort working in a warehouse environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Time will be spent in a stockroom, warehouse, or loading dock receiving and transporting deliveries.
- Moderate to heavy physical labor such as lifting and moving heavy items is required on a regular basis.
- Temperature in the warehouse or dock varies according to external climate.
- Standard 40-hour work week applies.
- Based on the above essential functions, this job is considered a safety sensitive job function.
