Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and efficient Line Cook to prepare high-quality food to our exact specifications. In this role, you will manage a specific kitchen station, set up ingredients, and execute menu items quickly and accurately during high-volume service. You will collaborate closely with the rest of the culinary team to ensure an exceptional dining experience for every guest.
Core Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Prep ingredients before service begins, including chopping vegetables, cutting meats, and preparing sauces or bases.
- Station Management: Set up and stock your assigned station with all necessary supplies, keeping it clean and organized throughout the shift.
- Order Execution: Cook and assemble menu items according to standard recipes, portions, and presentation guidelines.
- Timing & Speed: Manage multiple orders simultaneously to ensure food is ready quickly and served hot alongside items from other stations.
- Quality Control: Inspect ingredients and finished plates to maintain the highest standards of taste, appearance, and temperature.
- Sanitation & Safety: Follow all food handling, safety, and sanitation protocols, including checking refrigerator temperatures and properly storing ingredients.
- End-of-Shift Cleanup: Clean, sanitize, and break down your station at the end of service, ensuring all leftover food is properly labeled, dated, and stored.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook in a fast-paced commercial kitchen is preferred.
- Culinary Skills: Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and knife skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and move continuously for long shifts, work in a hot kitchen environment, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Pace & Focus: Ability to stay calm, focused, and efficient under pressure during busy rushes.
- Communication: Excellent listening and communication skills to coordinate with the chef, expo, and other line cooks.
- Availability: Flexible schedule, including mandatory availability for evenings, weekends, and busy holidays.
