| Our leading automotive supplier in Shelbyville, IN is hiring CNC Machine Set-up Technicians for 2nd and 3rd shifts. These are direct-hire, permanent positions offering competitive pay and excellent benefits. The ideal candidate will have experience in CNC machine setup, troubleshooting, and ensuring the quality of production in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Competitive wages from $18 to $26 per hour, and extensive benefits package.
- These are 2nd and 3rd shift assignments.
- Experience with 4 or 5 axis Okuma and Haas CNC machines is a plus!
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and troubleshoot CNC machines and related secondary production equipment.
- Ensure all products meet customer requirements by reviewing layout data and using various gauges.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production cell issues to minimize downtime.
- Occasionally operate CNC equipment in a production setting.
- Perform tooling and fixture changes as necessary.
- Collaborate with the team to meet or exceed production targets.
- Participate in Kaizen and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities to enhance productivity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
- Conduct quality checks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment as required.
- Complete all necessary documentation in a legible and timely manner.
- Train team members on equipment setup and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Okuma and Haas CNC machines, particularly 4 or 5-axis machines.
- Familiarity with Siemens controls, Fanuc robots, and basic electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read layout data, gauges, and blueprints.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for CNC equipment and production cells.
- Experience in an automotive production environment is a plus.
- Ability to work well in a team, maintain positive employee relations, and demonstrate flexibility in work hours and shifts.
- Competency with standard hand tools and measuring instruments.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience with CNC machines, machining equipment, and assembly equipment is beneficial.
