A Lathe Grinder is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining lathe grinding machines to shape and finish metal and other materials. Key Responsibilities:
Machine Setup and Operation:
Set up and operate lathe grinding machines according to specifications and work orders.
Select and mount appropriate grinding wheels and tools for the job.
Adjust machine settings to achieve the desired dimensions and finish.
Grinding Operations:
Perform grinding operations on metal and other materials to achieve specified tolerances and surface finishes.
Monitor the grinding process to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Measure and inspect workpieces using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify conformance to specifications.
Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on lathe grinding machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues to minimize downtime.
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
Document inspection results and maintain accurate records.
Work closely with quality control personnel to address any issues or discrepancies.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Collaboration:
