Our World-Class Automotive Supplier, located in Farwell, MI, is seeking a skilled Tool and Die Repair Technician to join our team. This is a direct hire position with competitive pay and excellent benefits, offering an opportunity to work in a dynamic, team-driven environment.
Job Summary:
 As a Tool and Die Repair Technician, you will be responsible for analyzing specifications, setting up and operating machine tools, and performing repairs and maintenance on metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges. You will also assist cell operators with repairs, set-ups, and provide technical support across various functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Communicate regularly with the TST Manager(s) to meet tooling, maintenance, and technical support requirements.
  • Provide cross-functional support to production across all shifts.
  • Assist with supervision on shifts as needed.
  • Contribute to process development, implementation, and improvements to enhance manufacturing capabilities, reduce waste, improve safety, quality, and environmental objectives.
  • Maintain professionalism and assist in training other employees.
  • Complete records and reports as required.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances for prototype parts, tooling, gages, and dies.
  • Operate equipment within your skills and training to support the production of prototype parts and tooling.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, ensuring safety and cleanliness standards are met.
  • Participate in Six S/continual improvement activities.
  • Adhere to MISOHA safety standards and all company policies.
  • Participate in training programs as required by the company.
  • May need to bring basic tools (large and specialty tools will be provided by the company).
  • Participate in the Emergency Response Team, Safety Committee, or Environmental Management Team as needed.
Education & Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 months of related experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Certification in a metalworking program or 4 years of related experience required.
  • Experience with metalworking equipment is essential (Journeyman preference).
  • Welding knowledge/experience preferred, or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Must have knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) or the ability to learn.
  • Experience with welding and/or willingness to develop welding skills.
  • Ability to work with other employees constructively to achieve team goals.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Leadership/Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • No supervisory responsibilities for this role.
