Our world-class automotive supplier in Battle Creek, MI, has an immediate need for an experienced General Manager to oversee operations and ensure maximum efficiency and profitability.  They offer a competitive salary at $130k to $140k plus bonus and excellent benefits. Must have foundry casting experience!
 
Key Responsibilities:

 As the General Manager, you will lead and coordinate the activities of our manufacturing facility. Your role will be essential in ensuring optimum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality output. Responsibilities include:
  • Policy & Goal Development: Plan, develop, and implement organizational policies and goals.
  • Facility Coordination: Oversee activities across manufacturing, engineering, planning, sales, maintenance, and R&D to improve operational efficiency.
  • Sales & Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with the sales team to create strategies that drive market development and secure a competitive, profitable position.
  • Budget Management: Analyze budget requests, allocate operating budgets, and identify areas for cost reductions.
  • Operational Planning: Direct the preparation of directives, optimize material and labor usage, and adjust production to maintain profitability.
  • Production Oversight: Review production reports, manage costs and product quality, and resolve issues to avoid delays or increased costs.
  • Employee Relations: Promote positive employee relations and a high level of morale. Foster teamwork, employee respect, and continuous improvement.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to HR, quality, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Leadership: Direct and mentor department supervisors, manage staffing, performance, and employee development.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as required by the CEO.
Leadership/Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage subordinate supervisors across Manufacturing and Administrative departments.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, training, development, and performance management of employees.
  • Ensure all supervisory actions comply with company policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of leadership experience in foundry casting or related automotive manufacturing environments.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Additional: Proven ability to manage a team and drive continuous improvement.
