Job Description:
We are seeking an entry-level Automation Engineer to design, build, and program test fixtures used to test electronic and avionics assemblies. This is a Direct Hire, hands-on role working closely with engineering and production teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and build electrical and mechanical test fixtures.
- Wire connectors, relays, switches, sensors, and other components.
- Write and troubleshoot test programs, primarily using LabVIEW.
- Build and test fixture prototypes to ensure accurate and repeatable results.
- Work with machine shops or vendors on fabricated fixture parts.
- Create wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and operating instructions.
- Train technicians and production employees on new test fixtures.
- Troubleshoot fixture problems on the production floor.
- Perform preventative maintenance and maintain calibration schedules.
- Track spare parts and help improve fixture reliability.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual testing and inspection processes.
- Work with Engineering to identify potential testing issues with new products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience; internships and co-ops are welcome.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Comfortable using hand tools and building/wiring equipment.
- Basic soldering skills.
- Familiarity with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, or other test equipment.
- Experience with CAD, LabVIEW, or PLCs is a plus.
- Aerospace/avionics or electronics manufacturing experience is a plus.
